Where do I create an incident?
Only on the Dashboard. Detail pages will not invent a new fire for you, which keeps a stray “save” from creating a duplicate.
Why is Mapping (or Incident) missing from the nav?
Those items appear when an incident is active. Open one from the Dashboard. New incidents start mapping-only; inventory tools stay hidden until Admin → Modules turns them on.
Should I use Deygout or ITM?
Slower — Higher Accuracy (ITM) is the default and the one for a planning map or a Radio Mobile–style compare. Faster — Generalized (Deygout) is for a quick sketch. Site-to-site links always use ITM. More in Reading RF results.
How accurate are coverage maps?
Planning grade. Terrain data, antenna assumptions, reliability, and the engine all move the fringe. Walk it before you promise a division a talk path.
What does the 3D button do?
It tilts the Mapping map over real ground so you can see ridges and how coverage, fire outlines, TFRs, and pins sit on them. Site-link hops go through the air from pin to pin (dots for plan, dashes when both ends are live). It is a viewing mode — Measure, Profile, Compare, click-inspect, and dropping points stay on the flat map. Hover 3D for Reset tilt. More in Map workspace and sites.
What is the difference between Field Recorder and Field Report?
Field Recorder is you, signed in, logging a drive-around (including offline). Field Report is a public code for crews without accounts. Accept a report to put it on the Testing map. See Field testing.
How do I find a drive to a site?
On Mapping → Sites, tap the car icon on that pad. Pick a start and Find routes. OpenStreetMap supplies the roads — ranch and forest spurs are often missing. This is not radio along a road (that is Analysis → Route), and it is not Admin → Access. More in Map workspace and sites.
Where are Access and Integrations?
People and permissions: top nav Admin → Access, when an incident is open. Without an active incident that menu is hidden. A drive to a hilltop is the car icon on a site card, not that menu.
How do I join someone else’s incident?
On the Dashboard, Open Incidents lists Live fires you are not already on. Join sends a request. The owner (and anyone with Accept join requests) gets an email and a Dashboard alert. If they decline, the note shows on your Dashboard and you can ask again.
What is Test vs Live when I create an incident?
Test stays off the Open Incidents list so practice fires are not joinable. Live stores as Open. You can still change status later on Overview to Closed, Archived, or Test. New incidents are mapping-only until Admin → Modules turns management on.
Can viewers publish ZoneMap or edit webhooks?
Viewers can see a published code and QR. Publish, rotate, remove, and Integration edits need owner or editor-style rights.
How do times work?
What you see and type uses your browser’s timezone. IWI alert wording cites UTC so another agency is not comparing sundials.
I need a platform tool I cannot see.
Contact your system admin. This guide covers day-to-day operator work, not site-wide setup.
